
Goodwin Brothers founded by Charles Goodwin after returning from Pacific service in WWII with his brother Howard (Don) Goodwin. They primarily perform small residential and commercial projects in the suburbs south of St. Louis.

Charles undertakes his largest project to date in building the First Baptist Church of Festus/Crystal City.

Despite Charles' apprehension, the second generation constructs their first wastewater treatment plant.

The second generation of Goodwin Brothers expands the company’s reach again to bridge construction that continues today.

Larry Goodwin becomes president.

Goodwin Brother begins a nearly 20-year relationship with Jefferson Memorial Hospital to build over 50 projects.

Construction at the Bissell Point Treatment plant begins including pump station and trickling filters. At the time, the largest of its type in the US.
1986

Goodwin Brothers builds the Missouri River Phase III Wastewater Treatment Plant. This is the first of 5 major expansions Goodwin Brothers performs at this plant.
1989

Founder Charles Goodwin passes away.

Goodwin Brothers expands operation out-of-state to a $24 million treatment plant expansion in Kansas.
1993

Goodwin Brothers helps save the church built by the founder in 1954 from the Great Flood of 1993.

Current Vice Presidents Brian Vestal and Doug Wachsnicht join Goodwin Brothers.
1996

Current President Charlie Goodwin joins Goodwin Brothers.

Because of the 1993 flooding, US Army Corp of Engineers contracts with Goodwin Brothers to construct flood control projects. These projects have since successfully protected the oldest settlement west of the Mississippi River.

Goodwin Brothers begins construction of its largest treatment plant project to date with construction of the Lower Meramec Treatment Plant in St. Louis. With this project, the third generation begins to make its mark on the company.

Past Vice President, Nehley Goodwin joins Goodwin Brothers before pursuing next career as a stay at home mom.
2005

Goodwin Brothers begins focusing on industrial work by taking key roles in construction of several cement plants.

New GB logo coincides with 60th anniversary.

Darin Roth assumes role of the company’s General Superintendent from Don Wall.

Goodwin Brothers takes on their largest project to date at the Missouri River Treatment Plant. This is the culmination of multiple phases at this facility that began over 20 years ago.

Charlie Goodwin transitions to President, and Larry Goodwin takes position of CEO.

Goodwin Brother embarks on two of the first public water and wastewater plants utilizing Design Build delivery in the state of Missouri.

The third generation continues to expand Goodwin Brothers' capabilities by tackling the company’s first 1,000,000 cubic yard earthwork project.

Goodwin Brothers again branches out to join forces with SAK Construction for the Maline, Jefferson Barracks and Deer Creek Tunnel projects in St. Louis.

Goodwin Brothers' second and third generation celebrates 70 years of building and relocates to a new facility on Baumgartner Road in St. Louis.
