This project includes construction of a 6 million gallon above grade tank, diversion structure and pump station to capture and storage combined sewer flows during rain events. West weather flow are diverted off the trunk sewer via a passive diversion structure to the pump station that fills the tank until high flows subside.
The stored combined flows are then released back into the trunk sewer for full treatment. The site constraints for this project included being bounded by Coldwater Creek, Interstate 70, residential homes and being within Lambert International Airport flight path. Unique features of this tank include the facade with simuated windows and rain water harveting for tank cleaning.
