Inner Urban Wet Weather Storage Basin which utilized native prairie grass restoration in an effort to assist in local neighborhood restoration/beautification.
The project also required structural improvements to an existing brick horseshoe sewer system in 3 separate locations while the system remained operational and unobstructed.
The Horseshoe Basin in north St. Louis serves as an integral part of our wastewater management system, helping to reduce basement backups and overflows into our environment. Take a moment to appreciate the harmonious blend of nature and infrastructure that protects our environment. This basin took 2+ years to build and stores 20.8 MILLION gallons.
