Lower Meramec Disinfection

This project included construction of a new disinfection basin and chemical feed building for a facility that Goodwin Brothers completed four years earlier. Our experience at the facility proved valuable in excavations adjacent to existing infrastructure. The project design indicated sheet pile shoring to support final clarifier walls for disinfection excavations. With our experience in building the final clarifier we knew that this support was not needed. This resulted in cost and schedule savings to the project, as well as, eliminated potential vibration damage by not installing sheet pile.

Coordination with the existing plant was key to the project success. Tie-in to the plant effluent line required multiple overnight shutdowns of the facility during dry periods. This work was performed within the required timeframes to ensure no interruptions in service.
