This project included construction of a proprietary open cell, sheet pile wall at the America’s Central Port South Harbor for mooring barges on the Mississippi River during loading and unloading operations. Construction included the use of both a 100 and 200-ton lattice boom cranes for driving and handling sheet piling from the landside.
Barges were positioned to allow worker access via manlifts for lacing sheets and attaching the vibratory hammer. Once driving of the sheet was completed 100,000 cy of sand backfill was utilized to secure the structure.
